Frequently asked questions

Check available internet options and their lead times, existing cabling condition, number and location of power outlets, comms room space and cooling, and mobile signal strength for backup connectivity. A pre-move site survey covering these areas prevents most of the connectivity surprises businesses hit on move-in day.

Confirm whether FTTP or a leased line is available at the address, and get realistic installation lead times before committing to a move date — leased lines can take 6 to 12 weeks. Landlords or previous tenants can sometimes confirm what infrastructure is already in the building, which can significantly speed things up.

Most offices need structured cabling to each desk or a robust WiFi setup, a dedicated comms room or cabinet with power and ventilation, sufficient switch ports for growth, and a firewall sized for your user count. Older buildings sometimes need first-fix cabling installed, which adds both cost and time to the move.

Staff typically end up working off mobile hotspots or degraded temporary connections, which slows down cloud applications, VoIP calls, and file access for days or weeks. This assessment flags gaps in connectivity, power, and cabling early enough to fix them before the move date rather than during it.
