Our approach to connectivity

Assess First, Sell Later

We don't push the most expensive product. We start by understanding your business — how many people, what applications, how critical your uptime is — then recommend the right connection. Sometimes that's a simple SoGEA line. Sometimes it's a leased line. You'll know why before you commit.

One Provider, One Relationship

Instead of dealing with a faceless telecoms company, you deal with us. We manage the entire process — ordering, installation, configuration, ongoing support. If something goes wrong, you call us, not a call centre.

IT Expertise Built In

Unlike a pure broadband reseller, we're an IT company. We configure your router, set up your firewall, integrate with your network and ensure everything works together. Connectivity is just one part of the picture — we see the whole thing.

Need faster, more reliable business internet?

How it works

From initial enquiry to live connection, we handle everything so you can focus on running your business.

1

Site Survey & Assessment

We assess your current setup, bandwidth needs, number of users and business-critical applications. We check what's available at your postcode and recommend the best-fit product — not the most expensive one.

2

Quote & Order

We provide a clear, transparent quote with no hidden costs. Once approved, we place the order with Fidelity Group and manage the entire provisioning process — keeping you informed at every stage.

3

Installation & Configuration

We coordinate the physical installation, configure your router and firewall, set up static IPs, integrate with your existing network and ensure everything is working before we consider the job done.

4

Monitor & Support

Once live, we proactively monitor your connection, handle any issues with the carrier on your behalf and provide ongoing technical support. You deal with us — one point of contact for everything.

Businesses turn to us when

Their broadband keeps dropping out and it's costing them productivity, sales and customer trust
Their internet speed is too slow for the cloud applications, video calls and file transfers they rely on daily
They're stuck in a contract with a provider that takes days to respond to faults and offers no real support
They're moving office and need reliable connectivity set up at the new site before they arrive
Their business has grown and their consumer-grade broadband can no longer handle the demand
They've migrated to the cloud but their connection can't keep up with Microsoft 365, VoIP and SaaS tools
They need a dedicated, uncontended line for mission-critical operations and can't afford any downtime
They're paying too much for a broadband package that doesn't match their actual needs
They want a single IT partner who manages their connectivity, network and infrastructure together

Why choose Cloudswitched for business broadband?

We're not a telecoms company — we're an IT company that understands connectivity as part of a bigger picture. When we set up your broadband, we're thinking about your whole network: your firewall, your Wi-Fi, your cloud applications, your VoIP phones and your team's day-to-day experience.

Most broadband providers install a line and leave. We configure your router, set up your firewall rules, integrate with your existing infrastructure and make sure everything works together seamlessly. If there's a problem, you call us — not a faceless call centre — and we deal with it.

Through our partnership with Fidelity Group, we have access to enterprise-grade connectivity infrastructure at competitive prices. But unlike going direct to a carrier, you also get our IT expertise on top — network configuration, security, monitoring and support all included.

Whether you need a straightforward SoGEA broadband line for a small office or a dedicated leased line for a data-intensive operation, we'll recommend the right product, manage the installation and keep everything running.

What's included with our connectivity service

Site Survey & Availability Check

Before recommending anything, we check exactly what connectivity options are available at your address. We assess your current bandwidth usage, the number of users and devices, your reliance on cloud applications and your growth plans — then recommend the product that genuinely fits your needs.

This isn't a generic postcode lookup. We work with Fidelity Group's infrastructure data to identify the fastest, most reliable options available at your specific premises, including fibre availability, exchange distances and any infrastructure limitations.

Ordering & Provisioning Management

We handle the entire ordering process — from the initial order through to carrier provisioning, installation scheduling and go-live. You don't need to deal with the telecoms provider directly at any stage. We chase progress, manage timelines and keep you informed throughout.

For leased lines, this includes managing wayleave applications, fibre routing surveys and any civil works required to bring dedicated fibre to your premises. We've done this many times and know how to avoid common delays.

Router & Firewall Configuration

Connectivity isn't just about the line — it's about what happens after it enters your building. We configure your router with proper settings, set up your firewall rules, establish VPN connections if needed, configure static IPs and ensure your network is both fast and secure.

If you're on a managed IT support plan with us, this integrates seamlessly with your existing network monitoring and management. If not, we still configure everything properly and hand over clear documentation.

Network Integration

We don't just plug in a router and leave. We integrate your new connection with your existing network infrastructure — switches, Wi-Fi access points, VoIP phones, printers and any other connected devices. We test everything end-to-end to make sure your team can work from day one without issues.

If you're upgrading from an existing connection, we plan the cutover carefully to minimise downtime. Where possible, we keep the old connection live until the new one is fully tested and operational.

Ongoing Monitoring & Support

Once your connection is live, we don't disappear. We proactively monitor your connectivity for outages, latency issues and performance degradation. If there's a problem, we often know about it before you do — and we're already working on it.

If a fault needs to be raised with the carrier, we handle it. You deal with us, one point of contact, and we manage the carrier relationship on your behalf. No sitting on hold, no ticket numbers, no being bounced between departments.

Failover & Resilience Options

For businesses where downtime is not an option, we design and implement failover solutions. This can include a secondary broadband connection from a different carrier, 4G/5G backup that kicks in automatically, or dual leased lines with automatic failover routing.

We configure your network to switch to the backup connection seamlessly if the primary goes down — often so fast that your team doesn't even notice. We'll recommend the right level of resilience based on how critical your connectivity is.

Why Cloudswitched for connectivity?

IT company first, connectivity provider second. That's why your broadband actually works properly.

IT company, not just a reseller

We configure your router, firewall and network properly — not just plug in a box and leave. Your connectivity is integrated with your entire IT infrastructure.

One point of contact

No dealing with call centres. You call us, and we deal with the carrier. One relationship, one phone call, one team that knows your business.

Right product, not the most expensive

We recommend based on what you actually need — not what earns us the biggest commission. If SoGEA is enough, we'll say so. No upselling.

Proactive monitoring

We monitor your connection and often know about issues before you do. When there's a problem, we're already on it — not waiting for you to call.

Enterprise-grade infrastructure

Through Fidelity Group, you get access to the same carrier-grade infrastructure used by large enterprises — at prices that work for SMBs.

Full network integration

We don't just install a line. We integrate it with your switches, Wi-Fi, VoIP and cloud services — making sure everything works together from day one.

Managed cutover

Upgrading your connection? We plan the switchover carefully to minimise downtime, keeping the old line live until the new one is fully tested.

Part of your IT team

Already a Cloudswitched IT support client? Your connectivity slots straight into your existing support. Not yet? We can manage both together for maximum efficiency.

Failover & resilience

Need guaranteed uptime? We design failover solutions with backup connections that kick in automatically — so your business keeps running no matter what.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about business broadband and connectivity. If you need more detail, get in touch — we're happy to talk it through.

What's the difference between SoGEA, FTTP and a leased line?

SoGEA is standard business broadband delivered without a phone line — good for basic needs up to 80Mbps. FTTP is full fibre to your premises with speeds up to 1Gbps — much faster and more reliable. A leased line is a dedicated, unshared connection with guaranteed speeds up to 10Gbps — the gold standard for mission-critical operations. We'll help you choose the right one.

How long does installation take?

SoGEA and FTTP typically take 1-3 weeks from order to go-live. Dedicated leased lines take longer — usually 60-90 days — because a physical fibre connection needs to be built to your premises. We'll give you a realistic timeline upfront and keep you updated throughout.

How much does business broadband cost?

It depends on the product and speed you need. SoGEA starts from around £25/month, FTTP from around £40/month, and leased lines from around £200/month depending on speed and location. We'll provide a clear quote based on your specific requirements — no hidden costs.

Can I keep my existing phone number?

If you're moving to SoGEA (which doesn't use a traditional phone line), you can port your number to a VoIP service. We can help with that too — we also provide cloud-based phone systems that work over your broadband connection.

What happens if my connection goes down?

You call us. We diagnose the issue, raise a fault with the carrier if needed, and manage the resolution on your behalf. For leased lines, SLAs guarantee fix times (typically 5-7 hours). We can also set up failover connections so your business stays online even during outages.

Do I need to change my IT provider to use this?

No. We can provide connectivity as a standalone service — you don't need to be a Cloudswitched IT support client. However, if you are (or become one), your connectivity integrates seamlessly with our monitoring, network management and support services.
